Central Rappahannock Regional Library, Fredericksburg, VA —

MakerLab (STEM) Assistant 
July 2019 - PRESENT

 

  • Plan and deliver MakerLab sessions and classes for children, teens, and adults at multiple branches and IdeaSpace, the digital media lab.

  • Instruct staff and customers in MakerLab badging on 3D printers at multiple branches and IdeaSpace as needed.

  • Assist customers with equipment reservations at IdeaSpace.

  • Perform general troubleshooting and required maintenance of MakerLab equipment, including 3D printers, drawing tablets, a GlowForge laser cutter and studio audio equipment

  • Promote a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons

  • Work closely with branch supervisor to create and schedule programming.

  • Correctly shelve materials by department and catalog call number.

  • Create monthly specialty displays showcasing seasons, themes, and events

  • In-depth research and records categorization to assist patrons

  • Utilize Horizon library database to view and collect data

  • Assisted in designing new library layout to create ease of use

  • Address patron issues and concerns, including fines and current blocks. Direct issues and concerns to supervisor/s on duty when necessary.

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all public use areas and service desks.

  • Answer and direct all incoming phone calls in a welcoming, friendly, and efficient manner, as needed.

DSD Receiver: Operations

  • Provide excellent customer service experience.

  • Supervisor status, entrusted with the key to the safe as well as the register override key and supervision of front line; this includes the cashiers, registers, customer service desk and money safe.

  • Reviewed and approved merchandise brought in by 3rd party vendors, issue checks for invoice remittance.

  • Called in shortages, overages, and damages to the store’s grocery provider.

  • Tasked with handling merchandise returns and exchanges, as well as processing and filing invoices.

  • Designing sale signs and price tags.

  • Familiarity with Master Maintenance, UNFI’s product database system.

  • Responsibility of changing prices weekly via Master Maintenance to keep up with in-store, regional and national price changes.

  • Three years of cashier experience, as well as four years of customer service.

  • Ability to count money quickly and efficiently with no discrepancies or losses.

  • Entrusted with the master key and the keys to safe.

  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of customers and effectively provide them with the desired results.
